Party Planet (re)open for business

Lincoln-based party shop Party Planet has moved back into its original premises after suffering £60,000 of damage following a collapsed roof and flooding last September.

The business, which had lost more than 50% of its stock and had temporarily moved to an empty unit nearby in time for Halloween, was able to move back into its original premises at the end of January, six months after the flood initially took place.

“Trade is improving again but unfortunately lot of people thought we had closed,” explained owner Gail Brocklebank, “despite radio advertising, a huge sign in our window saying we had temporarily moved two doors down and a newspaper story when it happened. We’ll get it back though!”

“We’re just pleased to be up and running again, it was a very stressful six months but we have made it through, if slightly greyer!” Gail continued. “Once the final insurance payout has arrived it will be completely sorted and we can put it all behind us.”

Gail also wanted to to thank a number of suppliers who had offered their help when the flood initially happened.

“Unique Party offered extended credit terms for our first re-stock order, Smiffys were helpful with free boxes when we were moving stock, and Pioneer gave us extended credit terms on our replacement balloon inflators. We can’t thank you all enough for helping us get through those first few weeks!”
