Spirit Halloween donates $73,000 to child life programme

US-based seasonal party and Halloween retailer Spirit Halloween has presented WVU Medicine Children’s Child Life Programme with a cheque worth more than $73K.

Representatives from the West Virginia branches of the retail chain came together to donate the money, which was donated by store customers during the Halloween 2018 buying season.

As the largest Halloween specialty retailer in the whole of North America, Spirit Halloween has made fundraising part of its mission statement.

The Spirit of Children initiative allows the retailer to bring fun and funding to local hospitals and other children’s charities both at Halloween and throughout the rest of the year.

“Our mission is to make hospitals less scary for kids and their families through support of the children’s department at partner hospitals in our local communities,” says a spokesperson for the party and fancy dress retailer.

Across the US, Spirit of Children programme raised more than $9 million in 2018, bringing its total to more than $54 million since the programme first began.
