IOW Festival Puts Fancy Dress Centre Stage

Fancy dress will be taking centre stage at this year’s Isle of Wight festival, which is taking place from Thursday 21 to Sunday 24 June, as organisers celebrate the festival’s 50th birthday.

As part of the celebrations, the lucky festival goer who is deemed to be wearing the best golden fancy dress will be given an exclusive backstage experience and a ‘money can’t buy tour’.

Festival goers are encouraged to dress in their best gold finery on Saturday 23 June to celebrate the festival’s golden jubilee.

Once the Golden Goddess or God has been selected, they will receive a champagne picnic, a backstage tour and access to the pit so they can watch all the action from the main stage in comfort .

“In honour of the festival’s ‘Golden Jubilee’, all attendees are invited on Saturday 23 June to adorn themselves in gold for a weekend of fun and celebration,” reads a statement on the festival website. “Expect to see sparkling divas, shining stars and victorious gladiators come together for this year’s 50th anniversary.”
