BAPIA is organising the ninth annual Children’s Christmas Party Decor Day for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Each year, the event receives an amazing response from BAPIA members, and 2023 is no exception. John Bowler, ceo of BAPIA, commented: “This is such a fantastic day and for such an amazing group of young people. Those who have taken part are the best people to tell you how good it is.”
A previous attendee commented: “This is a must I have had pleasure of doing a few and would always register as I learn and it melts my heart the reason.”
Another said: “This is a brilliant day and I couldn’t recommend it enough. Such an amazing day with brilliant people and for the benefit of all the beautiful children.”
Another added: “Anyone who is considering this – I say go for it. It is the most fabulous day.”
The hospital charity organises four parties across two days, which will see 1,500 – 2,000 children, parents and carers from the hospital attend, along with a raft of celebs who turn up to support the children.
The BAPIA team will go in the day before to create a magical scene that transforms the room. This is something of a challenge as they are not permitted to use latex balloons due to the possibility of children with latex allergies… But BAPIA loves a challenge.
Without the support of the foil balloon manufacturers – Amscan, Grabo, Oaktree, Party Deco, Qualatex and Tuftex, along with BOC, PremiumConwin and Clik-Clik – the event would not be possible.
This year, for the first time, BMTV will also be supporting the day, filming the proceedings to allow everyone to see what happens and how the room is transformed.
