Party City creditors consider separating balloon business

Party City is considering splitting up its balloon manufacturing and retailing businesses as the the latter plans a route out of bankruptcy.

Bloomberg has reported that the company has held confidential discussions with debt holders about spinning off its Anagram unit. The talks are continuing and the situation may change.

The company said its subsidiaries outside of the US, its franchise stores, and its Anagram business are not part of the bankruptcy proceedings.
