Harlequin Party Shop to close

The 32 year-old Lewisham business has announced it will close its doors for the final time on 31 December 2022.

Owners Karen and Pete Dawson (pictured) posted to their business Facebook page to inform customers that after 32 years of trading, they have made the decision to close the shop for good.

The post said: “We have met some wonderful customers and made some great new friends and regulars that mean the world to us.

“Now we have the mammoth task of selling off all our stock at reduced prices. World Book Week, Christmas, New Year, birthdays, occasions, stocking fillers, secret santa, Butlins, darts – to name but a few reasons to come and buy at REDUCED prices.

“In the beginning of the business, Karen started hiring costumes from her home, maybe somebody out there want to do the same? Chance to start your own business without overheads?

“As the song goes ‘I’ve had the time of my life’.”

The post has so far received over 100 messages of luck and thanks for the couple, who have made the decision to retire.
