A recent survey carried out by the National Costumers Association has found that US consumers were attracted to bricks and mortar stores this Halloween.
The survey showed that 30% of shops reported that costume sales this year were much better than 2021, and 19% said they were somewhat better. Not everyone had a positive experience though, as 22% said sales were flat, while the remaining 29% said sales were worse or much worse.
Costume rentals were also up, with half of those surveyed who offer the service, saying they experienced better or much better rentals this year, 30% said they were the same as last year, and only 20% said they were worse.
