ILFD Group reports 78% sales growth

Turnover for October grew by 78% versus October 2021, as the company dressed over 300,000 people worldwide for Halloween.

ILFD experienced its best Halloween ever this year, with some of its newest lines taking the number one spots on UK marketplaces including eBay and Amazon. New launches for this year included skeleton, vampire and devil cheerleader costumes for both adults and children.

Costume designer, Lewis Saye, commented: “Spotting our costumes on social media and television is one of the most rewarding things about the job.”

The company merits its in-house dispatch system as a key factor in its success, as well as its aim to cater for all sizes to help consumers feel comfortable about dressing up. Some costumes range up to a 4XLarge and the majority are available in plus sizes.

Year to date, ILFD is about 40% up and has no plans to slow down as it eyes US and Canada as its next growth markets. The company is partnering with distribution centres within each country to allow it to fulfil express delivery and dramatically increase orders.

The group also launched Cazaar.co.uk – the party marketplace – last year, which has been flourishing with over 25 toy, costume and partyware sellers in the UK offering next day delivery.

George Nesnas, director of ILFD Group, said: “We continued to produce more stocks during Covid even though the party industry saw downturns. Our ethos has always been to produce affordable costumes and accessories and offer an incredible service to customers. We offered next day delivery up to 10pm throughout the peak season and this contributed to a lot of new business.

“We are now out of Covid and having high stock levels of great products has really paid off. As we turn our eyes to foreign markets we are still planning on a record growth year in the UK for 2023.”
