US home improvement retailer, The Home Depot, has reported that an early release of Halloween products sold out ‘almost immediately’ when they were launched online earlier this week.
During a Q2 earnings call, the company revealed that an early drop of Halloween decorations had been released online as part of the retailer’s annual marketing campaign, citing it as a strong indication of consumer appetite for Halloween products this year.
Ted Decker, president and coo told analysts: “We had a sneak peak with opening up Halloween online and just sold out our sort of pre-released Halloween product almost immediately.
“So that’s a very strong indication that people are still going to engage in decorating, and we look forward to setting our decorative holiday later in October.”
The Home Depot also experienced its best ever Halloween sales last year as consumers spent extra on home decor to celebrate at home while not able to go out during the pandemic.
