EBPC reveals ‘Do not inhale gas’ symbol

The European Balloon and Party Council (EBPC) has revealed the final image to be used throughout the industry for the ‘Do not inhale gas’ symbol.

The symbol was created following many hours of discussion and multiple meetings within the Symbols Project Group and is intended to raise awareness on the dangers of inhaling helium, balloon gas or any other gas from balloons.

The symbol has been designed and finalised after consultion with members via newsletters, hours of research and full analysis of a consumer survey using various designs and refinements.

Use of the symbol is not a mandatory requirement of any legislation, although use of the symbol is considered ‘good practice’ for the industry.

The symbol can be used immediately by any EBPC member worldwide since the aim is to increase awareness of the risks associated with inhaling gases. Non-members may also use the symbol, simply by registering on www.ebpcouncil.eu to download the pack, which contains images files and guidance.

The EBPC has previously launched balloon use symbols which are now seen worldwide on manufacturer packaging, such as ‘Don’t let go’.
