Target extends Halloween range for wheelchair users

American retailer Target has added to its existing range of Halloween costumes designed and adapted specially for children who use wheelchairs.

The dragon costume makes a feature of the wheelchair.

The inclusive range – which first launched last year in order to ensure that children who use wheelchairs can take part in the holiday fun – has been developed in partnership with Hyde and Eek Boutique.

This year’s additions to the costume range include a digger, a dragon, a mermaid, a witch and a rocket, with all including a cover which incorporates the wheelchair and makes a feature out of it. The digger cover turns the wheelchair itself into a digger, while the witch wheelchair cover includes a broom and cat for that extra spooky touch!

The clothing parts of the costumes come in small, medium and large, for ages four and up, while the wheelchair covers fit a wide variety of wheelchair sizes.

The costumes also offer side fastening for easy dressing and access as well as flat seams and no tags, making them ideal for children with sensory issues.
