Bristol Novelty introduces Fancy Dress Friday

Costume and accessory company Bristol Novelty has introduced a new social media initiative in order to help lift people’s spirits as they remain on lockdown or isolation in their own homes.

The campaign, which will be publicised on social media using the hashtag #fancydressnation, has been created in order to help keep fancy dress and costume relevant during a time when traditional parties and gatherings will not be happening.

“As an industry, it is down to us all to ensure we keep fancy dress front of mind in these difficult times,” explained marketing manager Fran Hales. “We are in the business of bringing joy to those who buy our products and now more than ever, this tradition should continue in order to boost the morale of those in isolation and try to bring some light-hearted joy during these anxious times.”

He continued: “Together, let’s try and make isolation a chance to share our passion for what we do with the nation. We will certainly be digging out costumes we have from the past and the present to share these with the country, not to sell but to raise spirits – we encourage others in the industry to unite and do the same.”

Bristol Novelty is calling upon all suppliers, wholesalers, retailers and costume enthusiasts to include the #fancydressnation hashtag in any social media posts, especially those which involve fancy dress on a Friday! The team also suggests getting others involved by challenging anyone who likes the post to dress up and to do the same, spreading the message to their followers .

“We want to assure all our valued customers that the Bristol Novelty team will continue to check in on you and support you in every way we can,” Fran added. “Together we will get through this and come back stronger than ever.”
