UK party retailer offers home play packs for the nation’s children

UK party retailer Jollyjesters is making the most of its enforced closure during the current Covid-19 lockdown situation by putting together ‘play packs’ for children, which it will then deliver for free in the local area.

The packs, which will offer a selection of product ideal for keeping the kids entertained, will include masks, hats, wigs and joke items and can either be delivered for free locally or sent in the post for anyone further afield.

Care workers, key workers and NHS staff should make themselves known to owner Kate Moore as they will then receive some ‘extra goodies’ as a thank you for all their vital work during the crisis.

“We’ve been lucky with the weather so far but when the rain kicks in, kids might need a bit more entertaining,” Kate said. “Our packs will include face-painting stuff, tinsel wigs, ears and tail kits, assorted hats, inflatable picture frames.. basically a random lucky-dip package which we’ll sell at a knock-down price as a gesture of goodwill in the community.”

Kate went on to explain that all costume hire bookings have been cancelled for the forseeable future and that shutting up the shop – even temporarily – was an emotional occasion.

“I’m not whining, I understand it has to be this way,” she said. “Health is much more important than wealth.”
