“Customisation is a trend that’s not going anywhere…”

As marketing manager for Rubie’s UK, Vicki Hamilton takes a look at the current Halloween market and what retailers can expect to see as we approach the big day.

What’s your top tip for this year?

“Customisation is a trend that’s not going anywhere. Look for opportunities to bundle or cross-merchandise items that will add individuality to a Halloween look – such as wigs, hosiery, face and hair makeup and face and body jewels.”

Which item/range/style do you expect to do really well?

“There are some great movies slated for this season, so we expect the refreshed Pennywise to be really popular, along with a renewed interest in The Joker. As something a bit different for kids who favour an alternative aesthetic, Sally Finkelstein and Jack Skellington are now available in children’s sizes. ”

What are your new launches / biggest sellers?

“Rubie’s brand new official Shrine face and body jewels are also available now. Shrine has collaborated with Warner Bros. to create a stunning range of face and body jewels, perfect for adding a unique twist to an outfit. They’re a great upsell alongside Batgirl, Cat Woman, Harley Quinn, Mera, Wonder Woman and Poison Ivy costumes.”
