London Comic-Con celebrates costume

Thousands of cosplay fans gathered in London last week at the eagerly anticipated Comic Con, where they came together to celebrate costumes and dress-up on an extreme scale.

The London Comic Con event, which is held twice a year at London’s Excel centre, is a fan-focused conventions which offers cosplayers, movie buffs, comic fans, families, gamers, collectors and anime enthusiasts the chance to meet with movie cast members, authors and directors as well as enjoying ree panels and exclusive screenings.

Fans typically take the opportunity to dress up as their favourite superheroes and villans, with officially licensed lines from suppliers including Rubie’s, Smiffys and Amscan on show alongside some incredibly creative homemade examples.

The entire Marvel universe was out in full force, as were a number Star Wars and Disney favourites, from Chewbacca to Buzz Lightyear. There was also more than one Spider-Man and some full-scale versions of iconic film villains such as Predator and Alien.

The family-friendly event attracts thousands of visitors each year.
