“We’re seeing new trend-led icons take centre stage”: talking to Creative Party

Design-led party product company Creative Party is well-known for its stylish and innovative approach to tableware. PartyWorldwide.net spoke to Holly Forder, product and marketing director, to find out more.

Tell us about the trends you’re seeing in the market at the moment?

“The party market over recent years has benefited more than ever from popular consumer trends that have naturally lent themselves to our product types. We are seeing strong character-led trends come through and we’ve been able to swiftly identify and capitalise on them, bringing them to market so our customers are able to offer ranges that meet consumer demand.”

How do new trends enter the marketplace?

“Longevity of designs is important, but we are finding that original trends often morph or evolve naturally into new ones. Llama evolved from the Aztec and bohemian looks and the styles tend to blend together. We have had cactus, tropical leaves, flamingo, llama, and pineapple all trending in a fused Tropical/South Western/South American theme, and it works! We are lucky in this way that a majority of décor items and party staples will cross merchandise with other product categories like cookie cutters, or our sugarcraft cake toppers.”

What do you expect will take the place of the unicorn?

“As we emerge from the year of the unicorn, we’re seeing new trend-led icons take centre stage, with llamas and mermaids currently having their moment in the spotlight. Our new Mermaid Shine party range has quickly shot to the top of our 2019 best sellers, followed closely by the vibrant, fun-filled Llama Party range.”

Moving on from characters, what else has been selling well?

“Accompanying fantasy themed ranges; iridescent, shimmer, and foil finishes have proven incredibly popular. All the colours of the rainbow come together in our new Iridescent range, featuring a luxurious foil finish that works its magic on the colourful setting. This fashion-forward finish, along with rose gold, stand out as prominent colour trends for 2019.”
