Amscan focuses attentions on World Book Day

Party and dress-up expert Amscan has released full details of its 2019 World Book Day collection, with a focus on licensed lines, generic characters and classic favourites.

Taking place on Thursday 7 March 2019, World Book Day has become a key date in the party and dress-up calendar over the past few years. The registered charity aims for every child to be given a book of their own and to celebrate reading, so many schools and libraries across the UK join in by encouraging children of all ages to dress up as their favourite literary character.

Unsurprisingly, licensed lines are a popular choice for preschooler suggestions, with Amscan focusing particularly on Dr. Seuss (Cat in the Hat, Thing 1 and Thing 2), Elmer the Elephant, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Winnie the Pooh.

The generic lines are aimed more at primary-aged children, highlighting a selection of costumes which are able to work across a wide range of popular modern and classic literary characters.  There is also a heavy focus on costumes and accessories inspired by children’s classic novel Alice In Wonderland.
