“Party is expecting lots of new licences in 2019”; talking to Spring Fair’s Alison Graham.

The growth in the licensing industry throughout the UK is being reflected across the costumes, balloons and partyware being showcased at this weekend’s Spring Fair, held at Birmingham’s NEC from Sunday 3 – Thursday 7 February, 2019.

“The impact of licensed products is telling in all show sectors,” said the fair’s licensing specialist, Alison Graham. “In contemporary gift and living for example, licence-led gifts are the biggest growth area.:

“Children’s Gifts and Party are expecting lots of new licences in 2019,” she continued. “Superheroes and celebrity continue to be huge trends in licensing and they will both be showcased heavily by our exhibitors.”

Spring Fair’s such as The Party Show’s demonstration and catwalk area The Stage, are also likely be a hotspot for discussions about licensed products. Exhibitors offering licensed products will have tagged themselves as offering licensed products on the fairs app, so that retailers will easily be able to track them down.

“As retailers continue to find new ways to diversify, licensed products represent a potential new revenue stream, too,” continued Alison. “There’s a need to refresh and reinvent product ranges currently and licensed products enable retailers to make big plays and deliver increased revenues, too.”
