Morphsuits are being used to great effect by the fashion-forward @checking_invoices Instagram account, which has almost 36,000 followers.
The social media account features images of someone in a morphsuit in everyday situations, wearing a selection of catwalk-worthy fashions from high-end designers such as Balenciaga, Gucci, and Halpern.
Founded by an anonymous photographer and stylist based in Italy, the pair first started taking snaps when trying on outfits for shoots, covering their faces to keep their identity under wraps. This gradually progressed to wearing a morphsuit and then it was only a matter of time before the account drew attention from the likes of Gucci and then took on a life of its own.
With their follower numbers continuing to grow, the two moved on from taking pictures in their apartment to getting out into the world for their shoots. “At the beginning, we were kind of shy because we thought people were going to call the police,” said the pair. “Now we don’t really care at all. We’ll just put on whatever we want and go out and take pictures.”
