EBPC toolkit helps campaign against single-use plastic proposals.

An online toolkit sent out by the European Balloon and Party Council (EBPC) encourages members to engage with and campaign against the EU’s single-use plastics strategy.

As part of its call for the industry to pull together, EBPC – the leading industry voice in Europe – emphasised the importance of all members adding their voice to the process.

“We have already been quite active on identifying the best routes to achieve our goals of removing balloons and balloon sticks from the scope of the SUP, and have already had some successes with MEP’s (Members of Parliament) in Brussels,” said EBPC operations manager, Suteesh Chumber.

Members are being asked to contant their relevant MEPs using the information found in the toolkit, which has been designed to help members get involved and contains a number of key documents:

  1. EBPC Engagement Toolkit: provides clear guidance on processes, timescales and how to reach out to politicians.
  2. EBPC Contact database: contains names and contact details for politicians in your countries.
  3. EBPC SUP Position paper: highlights EBPC’s key messages for discussion.

“We are happy to assist you before and during any communications and meetings,” added Suteesh. “If you wish to use a template letter supplied by EBPC to make contact with your MEP, please just let us know and we can provide this.”

“We would like to thank all members for the overwhelming support we have received so far,” he added.

If you have any queries about the toolkit or the processes to follow, please contact Suteesh directly.
