Balloon Market Buzz Talks To John Bowler

In the most recent instalment of Balloon Market Buzz, Greg Brown speaks to BAPIA’s chief executive John Bowler about the recent decision to withdraw its support from balloon releases.

The informal chat started off by talking about BAPIA’s recent announcement that it had taken the decision to no longer support balloon releases.

“This is based on the environmental issues and is the stance of a large proportion of the balloon industry,” said John. “But the key thing for us was that we took a poll of our members… and the majority of our members responded and said that they thought we should stop supporting balloon releases.”

John also went on to explain that BAPIA is run for the members, so their feedback is vital. “The response has been phenomenal and the feedback has been incredible,” he added.

The publicity and social media benefits of retailers asserting their environmental credentials was also highlighted within the discussion, with a hugely positive response from the general public.

Take a look for yourself – and let us (and Greg!) know what you think.
