High Street Gets Behind Doggy Dress-Up

Discount store B&M – which has more than 550 retail outlets throughout the UK – has introduced a line of summer-themed costumes for dogs.

Owners can dress their dogs as a unicorn, dinosaur, panda, frog prince or mermaid in the outfits, which normally cost £6, but are on sale in some outlets for as little as £4.

This isn’t the first time B&M has catered for canines, as it has previously released a line of generic superhero costumes and a popular Halloween range.

‘Your four-legged friend will love dressing up in their very own mermaid costume,’ says the retailer on its website.

There has been a steady increase in interest in canine costumes across the party industry in recent years, with Rubie’s in particular embracing the craze with a dedicated Rubie’s Pet Shop, which offers over 400 options ranging from sweet to scary.
