Paw Patrol Costume Recalled Due To Fire Hazard

US Halloween and party retailer Spirit Halloween has issued a recall for one of its Paw Patrol costumes, due to a potential fire risk.

The $13 dress-up fire helmet is subject to the recall (throughout the US and Canada) because of an attached flashlight. Overheating batteries can cause the flashlight to heat up and create a potential fire and/or burn risk.

This has prompted the retailer to issue a voluntary recall of the approximately 20,000 units which have been sold.

According to the advisory on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission website, there have been four separate reports of the flashlights overheating in both the US and Canada, where the costume has also been recalled.

However, there have been no reports of fires or associated injuries.

Any customers who have purchased the Paw Patrol Deluxe Marshall Hat are advised to take the flashlight that was sold with the hat away from children, stop using it, remove the batteries, dispose of the flashlight and contact Spirit Halloween for a full refund.
