Organisers of Camp Bestival have announced the theme for the family-friendly 2018 event will be ‘Camp Bestival Sets Sail’.
The Dorset-based event, held at Lulworth Castle, will run from July 26 to July 29 next summer and families planning to attend will be encouraged to embrace a nautical theme for their fancy dress, a regular feature of the festival.
Organisers have vowed to throw the ‘biggest fancy dress party ever’ on a voyage of fun for all the family.
“Ahoy there! Being a sailor boy myself and growing up by the sea I’m pretty in love with our theme for 2018, and the old da Bank brain is racing with ideas for outfits and accessories already,” said Camp Bestival founder Rob da Bank.
“Hopefully kids of all ages will get into this one and help us steer HMS Camp Bestival through the calm seas of Camp Besti next year! Right I’m off to splice the mainbrace and have a cheeky tot of rum!”
Camp Bestival was one of the pioneering festivals to champion themed fancy dress events and is well known for its fancy dress themed days. In 2005, an attempt was made to set the Guinness World Record for most people in fancy dress at any one event. This was achieved, when 55,000 festival goers set a new Guinness World Record.
