“We had a great reaction to last year’s ‘Golden Skull’…”

As head of marketing for Pioneer Europe, Julie Dommett takes a look at the current Halloween market and what retailers can expect to see from the big day.

What’s your top tip for this year?

“The same as every year…  get product on display in store and online! Customers are a lot more likely to want to buy Halloween balloons if they have already seen some inspiration. The movement of the balloons in store windows is also great for catching the eye of potential customers and putting Halloween party thoughts in their mind!”

Which item/range/style do you expect to do really well?

“The new Microfoil Halloween Cupcake shape steps away for classic Halloween colours and offers some colourful ombre tones instead, matching perfectly with our ‘Bats’ 11” latex.

We also see the ‘Halloween Fun Font’ doing well, the fun design and colour scheme makes it great for the younger audience, it also works really nicely with the corresponding ‘Halloween Jack Faces’ 18” Microfoil balloon.”

What are your new launches / biggest sellers?

“We had a great reaction to the ‘Golden Skull’ microfoil shape, when it launched last year. The large, glam skull-shaped balloon adds instant impact to any party, and we’re expecting another strong year from this design. The Northstar ‘boo’ script is another great way to add fun to any party setting – and it works well for parties for all ages.”
