Party City will be closing two California-based locations as well as Golden Valley (Minnesota) and Meriden (Connecticut) within the following few months.
“Party City routinely evaluates our portfolio of stores in response to ongoing consumer, market and economic changes,” read a statement from the retail chain. “After careful consideration, we have decided to close these locations this spring.”
In 2018, Party City Holdco opened 15 new stores, acquired 58 franchise and independent stores, and closed ten stores, with overall retail sales increasing by 4.3%.
In addition to Party City, the company operates stores under the names, Halloween City, and Toy City, and e-commerce websites.
