Gemar gets 2021 off to a strong start

Italian balloon company Gemar has already made its mark on 2021 by taking part in a number of online, interactive tradeshows and events, from the digital Halloween and Party Expo to the virtual Florida Super Jam.

The Florida Super Jam is always one of January’s highlights and this year was no exception, as 2021 saw the famous balloon convention become a ‘HomeVention’, with all the classes and events streamed to participants via Zoom.

Gemar sent balloon packs to participants around the globe in advance of the jam, so delegates had all the balloons they needed to get hands on and join in with Gemar’s workshops, each attended by around 130 people – and holding them online meant everyone had a front row seat.

Gemar’s international tutors included Irina Gvozdenko (Russia), Irina Lobanova (Russia), Veronika Golubeva (Ukraine) and Gergo Csatai (Hungary) – who was described as a ‘magician with balloons’ by one of the enthralled audience members.

Irina G was blown away by the wonderful comments she received, saying: “In Russia people don’t say anything when things go well, although they say a lot if they don’t like it! But I found the American audience very open and full of warmth in their praise, which was wonderful.”

The language barrier meant that some sessions were held live but using an interpreter, while others – like Veronika – had to pre-record their sessions so they could be translated.
