Ex-greeting card wholesaler focuses new business on party product

Ex-greeting card wholesaler Raj Cholera has focused his new business on party product following the closure of his 33-year-old business last year.

The new wholesale operation, which is named the One-stop Party Warehouse, is based in Watford and specialises in party goods and balloons, as well as stationery and other household lines.

Until last year, Raj had been running popular wholesale operation Wembley Greeting Cards, which unfortunately closed in April 2019 when the leasehold on the premises could not be renewed.

Raj didn’t waste much time before teaming up with Dilen Ramaiya – who owns the current property – to launch the new venture.

“I have more than 30 years of wholesaling experience and a loyal customer base to speak to, as well as lots of new trade of course, so I am confident that we will do well,” said Raj. “We officially opened in the first week of January and it’s been really good so far. I stocked some party lines previously but this is a much wider range and so I am enjoying doing something a little bit different as well.”

Raj carries product from Pioneer Europe, Amscan, Unique Party, Globos, Neviti, Club Green and Simon Elvin, among others.

An e-commerce site is currently in development for customers who cannot make the journey to Tolpits Lane in Watford, but until then retailers are welcome to speak to Raj directly on +44 1923 510590, as a delivery service is available.
