Bridal balloons appear at Paris Fashion Week

Bridal balloons have made a surprising appearance at Paris Fashion Week, featuring in a high-profile catwalk show for Celia Kritharioti’s spring summer 2019 collection.

Balloons have always been popular at weddings but decorators might be getting a few more unusual requests following the show, which was then featured across a number of international fashion publications and consumer news outlets.

The model Lena Perminova was sent down the runway in a white and pink bridal look, with a wedding veil which was carried through the air by more than 20 pink confetti-filled helium balloons.

The floating balloons lifted the veil, helping to create the illusion that the model was floating down the runway.

The high-fashion couture concepts seen on the Paris catwalks often form the inspiration for more wearable fashion trends and the dramatic balloon-veils have already been described as ‘everyone’s favorite new wedding look’.
