BAPIA’s GOSH event cancelled for 2020

BAPIA’s popular décor day for the annual Christmas parties at the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital will sadly not be taking place in 2020, due to the restrictions which are currently in place due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Balloon decorators and artists are always keen to support the event, which has been oversubscribed every year since it first began, seven years ago. It is expected to be returning in 2021, if possible.

“Despite the disappointing news, it hasn’t stopped BAPIA supporting the GOSH charity,” said chairman John Bowler. “Thanks to the fantastic support of Amscan and Premium Balloon Accessories, we have organised for 2,000 mini foil balloons on sticks to be delivered to the children of the hospital in the lead up to Christmas.”

There’s more in store for the children who will actually be in the hospital in the days immediately prior Christmas and over the Christmas period itself, John revealed.

“We are also working with the incredible support of Qualatex and BOC, to organise helium-filled Christmas balloons to be delivered to the hospital to help bring some Christmas cheer to the children and staff at the hospital.”

Check out BAPIA’s social media channels for more information and to see when the deliveries will take place.
