Balloon World team enjoys wellness weekend

Owner Richard Aylett decided that his staff needed a well earned rest, so took all his employees to the Lake District.

The staff and their families enjoyed an all expenses paid wellness weekend trip to the Beech Hill Spa Hotel, Bowness in the Lake District,  over the May Bank Holiday.

Richard explained: “The mental welfare of any company colleagues, not just Balloon World’s, is of paramount importance to the running of a successful business, obviously it has been a tough year mentally for everyone and I was aware that lockdown was having an effect on my team so I decided that a little R&R was in order.”

Hoping his team would find the weekend relaxing and find their inner selves, Richard also invited two after dinner speakers and rugby league legends from the local area, Danny and Paul Scunthorpe, to join them.

Danny is now a prolific wellness speaker and shared experiences about his struggles on and off the pitch, while Paul spoke about team work and team building.

Jason Knowles, sales director, said: “Both speakers were really well received. If each of our team gleaned just one thing from Danny and Paul, then it makes for a better work environment all round. I for one, definitely took away something from each speaker.”

Richard concluded: “Every one of my workforce showed such positive vibes by the end of the three days, I am now looking to make this an annual event. It was clearly money well spent and I’m hoping they will all return to work refreshed and ready to start again.”
