Balloon Market Buzz: talking to BAPIA’s John Bowler

In the most recent instalment of Balloon Market Buzz, Greg Brown is joined by BAPIA chief executive John Bowler, who talks about how members have coped during the lockdown period.

John joined Greg to talk about the measures BAPIA has taken over the past few months as well as what members can expect from BAPIA in the future – and of course it is no surprise that the talk turned to what balloon artists can expect to see in the future.

“In recent weeks, people have been very busy,” said John. “Exceptionally so. It’s interesting how – and I’ve been in the industry for 30 years now – but every time there’s a recession, the balloon industry seems to thrive.”

“Balloons have become exceptionally popular again, and people want deliveries. There’s no opportunity at the moment for large-scale decor but people do want to cheer themselves up… and so we have seen an explosion [in business].”

Take a look for yourself – and let us (and Greg!) know what you think.
